Vancouver council votes to ban retail pet sales

There will soon be no more doggies in the window, as Vancouver city council voted Wednesday in favour of banning retail sales of furry friends.
Vancouver councillors voted unanimously Wednesday in favour of a motion directing staff to put forward bylaw amendments to prohibit the sale of cats, dogs and rabbits in city pet stores, with certain exceptions, and to report back to council with the earliest date a ban can be implemented.
