Vancouver council to vote Tuesday on budget with 3.9 per cent tax hike

Vancouver council is set to vote Tuesday on the city’s 2018 budget, which includes a 3.9 per cent property tax increase and a 7.9 per cent hike for utility fees. 
As examples, if the budget is approved, the owner of a median single family home in Vancouver, assessed at $1.823 million, would face a property tax increase amounting to an extra $87 annually on an estimated property tax bill of $2,312. For the owner of a median strata unit, that would mean a $29 property tax increase
