Surrey council to vote on plan for new road through Hawthorne Park

Opponents of a controversial project to build a road through a popular Surrey park are urging Surrey councillors not to repeal a bylaw designed to protect Hawthorne Park. 
The proposed 105 Avenue corridor project for a two-lane road between Whalley Boulevard and 150th Street — which would link 105 Avenue with 105A Avenue on the other side of Hawthorne Park — would take out 1.6 hectares of parkland and cut down 250 trees.
