Separate violent attacks in Vernon leave one dead, one injured

VERNON — One man is dead and another has suffered non-life-threatening injuries in separate violent attacks near Vernon.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say the first incident occurred just before 1 a.m. when shots were fired during a targeted break-in in Lavington, about 15 kilometres east of the city.
