Redesigned North Plaza at Vancouver Art Gallery opens

The City of Vancouver officially reopened the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Thursday.
The new plaza is 4,197 square metres and will have a capacity for up to 1,500 people, providing ample space for the many gatherings that take place in the historic location in the centre of downtown, the city said in a news release.
The redesigned plaza will get its first major test on Saturday as one of the venues for the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
