Port Moody fraudster sentenced for violating B.C. Securities Commission order

A 58-year-old Port Moody man, already convicted of fraud, has been sentenced to three months in prison for violating a permanent ban on capital market activities imposed by the B.C. Securities Commission.
Rui Armando Figueiredo pleaded guilty on Feb. 28 in Surrey Provincial Court to one count of breaching an order of the BCSC, and will serve the three-month sentence consecutively with his three-and-a-half year sentence for a fraud conviction.
