Pedestrian dead after being struck by car in Maple Ridge

One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle late Thursday in Maple Ridge.
Ridge Meadows Mounties confirmed the fatality, but said they are still investigating and don’t know yet what happened.
RCMP say more information will be released later in the day.
Lougheed Highway is shut down between 216th Street and 222nd Street as police investigate the collision, which happened late Thursday night.
