New evacuation order issued for Anahim Lake area

An evacuation order has been issued for areas around Anahim Lake, “due to immediate danger” from a nearby wildfire.
The Cariboo Regional District order, issued in conjunction with the Ulkatcho First Nation, affects Anahim Lake, Nimpo Lake, Charlotte Lake, and the entire Ulkatcho First Nation territory.
The affected area is approximately 300 kilometres west of Williams Lake.The threat is coming from the Precipice Creek fire, a lightning-caused, 60-square-kilometre
