More people allowed to head home, but evacuation alerts remain

With wind expected to hit parts of B.C. this weekend and plenty of days left in the fire season, authorities are urging British Columbians to reduce their role in the spread of wildfires, which have so far cost $122 million and burned an area larger than Metro Vancouver.
As of Saturday at 1 p.m., there were 161 wildfires burning across the province, including 14 fires that started Friday, information officer Navi Saini of the B.C. Wildfire Service said.
