Michele Ney gets Green nomination for Nanaimo provincial by-election

Michele Ney, a teacher with deep roots in Nanaimo, will be the B.C. Green party candidate in the city’s upcoming byelection.
Ney, who has taught at the elementary and high-school level for 32 years, won the party’s nomination Saturday after its members voted online and at an in-person nomination meeting. The byelection was triggered when Leonard Krog resigned from his seat as NDP MLA on Nov. 30 after being elected Nanaimo’s mayor in October.
