Metro Vancouver mayors want suburban needs considered in transit planning

Metro Vancouver’s suburban mayors are frustrated that TransLink is focusing on multibillion-dollar transit projects in well-served areas, while their residents are stuck commuting in their cars.
On Thursday, members of the TransLink Mayors Council considered a report on extending rapid transit to the University of B.C. The report recommended SkyTrain be used to link Arbutus to the campus, which if tunnelled could cost in the neighbourhood of $4 billion.
