Merritt RCMP sergeant charged with assault

A Merritt RCMP officer has been charged with assault.
The charge against Sgt. Norm Flemming was sworn in B.C. Provincial Court in Merritt on Thursday. Flemming’s first appearance is set for Dec. 5.
The charge was laid in connection with an incident that took place at the detachment on May 15.
The B.C. Prosecution Service, which approved the charge, did not provide details about the incident.
