Man arrested following tense 14-hour standoff in South Surrey

A 58-year-old Surrey man is in custody after a tense 14-hour standoff with police ended peacefully with his arrest Monday morning.
The standoff began Sunday at 5:50 p.m. at a residence in the 2200 block of 174th Street.
Surrey RCMP officers, who were called to the neighbourhood for an unrelated matter, spotted a man in the area with outstanding warrants. The man went inside a residence and then refused to come out for police.
