Man, 82, dies in Richmond townhouse fire

An 82-year-old man is dead following a residential fire in Richmond Monday night.
Richmond firefighters responded to reports of smoke at the Sequoia Place townhouse complex at 10680 Springmont Dr. just before 6 p.m. When they arrived they discovered a man, the home’s occupant, in the front yard suffering from second-degree burns.
He was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
His name has not been released.
