Live from B.C. Legislature: Liberal MLA Steve Thomson named speaker, throne speech delivered

The B.C. Legislature returns today for its 41st Parliament and will be welcomed back with a throne speech by Premier Christy Clark.
Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon opened the session in Victoria with the election of  Liberal MLA Steve Thomson of Kelowna-Mission as Speaker.
Thomson has resigned from his post as Forests Minister and was the only person to put his name forward for consideration as Speaker.
