Letters: Time to change archaic law that bans responsible public drinking
The sound of waves lapping at the sand, the sun shining overhead and a cold beer in your hand. For British Columbians, this is a luxury we can only enjoy legally on vacation.
Though most other developed countries — and even the provinces of Quebec and Alberta — allow their citizens to drink in public, open-container laws make it illegal for us to do so here. These regulations are a relic of prohibition and have no place in a modern society.
