Letters: Governor general designate Julie Payette should step down, says reader

It has now been reported that governor general designate Julie Payette was charged with second-degree assault, later withdrawn, on her husband, Col. Billie Flynn, in 2011, from whom she is now divorced.In 2011, she was also involved in a fatal car accident in daylight at an intersection in Leonardtown, MD., in which Theresa Potts, a 55-year-old pedestrian, was killed. After an eight-month investigation by police, Payette was not held responsible because she had the green light.
