Letters: Blood-covered toy chainsaw has young man questioning Halloween’s meaning

Earlier this month, the world was shocked when Stephen Paddock shot down 58 innocent people and then took his own life. The horror of the Las Vegas shooting seems to have little impact as we move on to celebrate death through Halloween.
I was in Value Village recently and my little brother picked up a toy chainsaw. As we looked at it closer we realized that it had imitation blood splattered all over it. I couldn’t help but think, “What are we celebrating?”
