Large forest fire burning west of 100 Mile House

A major brush fire has broken out just west of 100 Mile House, near the Gustafsen North Forest Service Road. 
According to the B.C. Wildfire Service, the blaze, which began Thursday morning, has exploded in size throughout the day. After doubling in size in just three hours, it now spans 3.8 square kilometres and continues to grow.
“It is burning in some relatively dense timber, so it’s an aggressive fire. It’s burning quite hot and that has challenged our efforts,”
