Kokanee brewer in Creston evacuated due to ammonia leak

Columbia Brewery, the Labatt-owned brewery in Creston that produces and cans Kokanee beer, was evacuated Thursday afternoon due to a suspected ammonia leak.
The Creston Fire Department confirms it has sent a hazardous materials response team to the brewery. RCMP and a B.C. Ambulance crew are on scene.
It’s not known if there are any injuries.
Shannon Miller, spokesperson for Emergency Health Services, says a paramedic crew arrived at the brewery at 12:17 p.m.
