Kendall Waston gets Gold Cup callup

An injury to Costa Rica defender Bryan Oviedo has opened a Gold Cup door for Whitecaps captain Kendall Waston.
Oviedo missed Costa Rica’s opening game on Friday against Honduras after injuring his leg during training earlier in week.
An MRI has determined he’s suffered muscle damage and will be out two to three weeks. He’s returned to the UK, where he plays in the English Premier League for Sunderland.
