High-risk police operation ends in Kamloops with 13 charges laid

KAMLOOPS — Thirteen charges have been laid against a Kamloops man following an 18-hour standoff in Kamloops.
Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay says charges against Shane Caron include four counts of attempted murder after police say shots were fired at four RCMP officers during the incident that began Friday.
Pillay says other charges range from using a firearm while committing an assault to discharging a firearm to prevent arrest.
