Greg McConnell: Aviation safety: Action speaks louder than words

Transport Minister Marc Garneau frequently says safety is his top priority. I have no reason to doubt his sincerity. But his senior officials at Transport Canada are doing their best to make him look foolish when he declares that nothing else is more important.
This reality was laid bare by last week’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) report on the crash that killed former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice and three others in October 2016.
The TSB took issue with the fact that Transport Canada
