Ed Willes: Undersized Canucks prospect Tyler Madden playing big for Team USA

VICTORIA — As he often does before big games, Tyler Madden watched highlights of his favourite player in advance of Team USA’s meeting with Kazakhstan at this year’s World Junior Championship.
There he saw an undersized forward hunting the puck with maniacal zeal. He saw a player who compensated for his physical shortcomings with intellect and work rate. And he saw a player show up in the game’s principal battle areas, where he should have been overmatched but never was.
