Delta school playground torched

The fire that burned down a Delta school playground could have been far more devastating, a neighbour warns.
Tracy Schroeder awoke just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday to discover the play structure at Chalmers Elementary School in North Delta was engulfed in flames.
“It’s been a bit of a long morning,” Schroeder said. She grew up in North Delta; her kids are grown, but they went to Chalmers and then to neighbouring Burnsview Secondary.
