Delta police wade into ocean to save man in distress

Two Delta police officers and a reserve constable are being lauded for their bravery after wading into the ocean to rescue a man in distress on Saturday.
After the man’s family had called police to report that he was in crisis, officers spotted the man driving to the end of 34th Street at Goose Bay in Ladner, where he got out of his car and ran into the ocean.
Delta police say the officers waded about 600 to 700 metres into the water to save him.
