This week, the City of Vancouver proposed new Airbnb regulations that would cut down on short-term rentals cutting into the city’s rental stock.
Those wishing to rent out a spare bedroom or their entire primary property would be required to get a $49 annual business licence, as well as a one-time $54 activation fee. Hosts would be required to post a valid licence number on their Airbnb listing.
