Can kids contribute to their own RESP?

Q: We’ve got two boys, one just turned 16 and the other is 12, and both are doing course planning at school. They were talking to their aunt and she asked them if they know what they want to do after high school is done, and both indicated that they’d like to pursue careers that require post-secondary education. My sister treats our boys as if they were her own and asked if she could help them out with an extra contribution to their RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan). That&rsqu
