Surrey Liberal MP Randeep Sarai is stepping down as chair of the Pacific Caucus after inviting a would-be assassin to a dinner reception with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in India.
Sarai has taken responsibility for inviting Jaspal Atwal — a B.C. Sikh convicted of the attempted murder of an Indian cabinet minister in B.C. in 1986 — to an event during Trudeau’s recent trip to India.
