Animals evacuated as B.C. burns

A massive forest fire and several road closures have trapped David Edge’s nine horses in a pasture near Lac La Hache.
Edge was one of dozens of livestock owners scrambling to care for animals Saturday as several forest fires burned out of control across the province. Edge hoped he’d eventually be allowed into the area near the 1,500-hectare Gustafsen wildfire to evacuate the horses, but remained at the mercy of the fire.
