Markets plunge with Dow posting worst Christmas Eve session on record

North American markets plunged to start a shortened trading week as political uncertainties sent the Dow Jones industrial average to its worst ever Christmas Eve trading session and the price of crude oil falling to its lowest level since the summer of 2016.
