Thunder Bay, Ont., general surgeon getting set to compete in ultramarathon in Italy

A general surgeon at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is heading to Italy on Sept. 9 to compete in the TOR330 - Tor des Géants. Andrew Smith will begin the 330-kilometre ultramarathon on Sept. 13 in Courmayeur, where he will race against fellow competitors for up to 150 hours, with the goal of reaching the finish line before 6 p.m. on Sept. 19.
