Six New Wildfires in Northwest District – August 3, 2018

THUNDER BAY – Continued warm temperatures and clear skies corresponded with a general rise in the fire hazard in the Northwest Region over the past 24 hours.
There were six new fires confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of Aug. 3.
At the time of this update, there were 92 active fires in the region. Twelve of those fires are not under control, five are being held, 13 are under control and 62 are under observation.
The fire hazard is currently high in the Kenora, Red Lake,
