Northwest Region Forest Fire Situation Update, August 19, 2022

THUNDER BAY – WILDFIRE Update – The quiet wildfire season continues. Another day with no new wildfires reported.No new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by the late afternoon of Aug. 19.
At the time of this update there is one active fire in the region:Nipigon 16 is located approximately 27 kilometres west of Geraldton. The 2.0 hectare fire is under control.
The wildland fire hazard is low to moderate across the Northwest Region.
