Northwest Region Forest Fire Situation Update, August 17, 2022

THUNDER BAY – WILDFIRE UPDATE – The fire hazard across the majority of the region is low. There are medium to high fire hazard areas in both the Thunder Bay and Nipigon regions.
The slow fire season however continues.
No new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by the late afternoon of Aug. 17.
Since the last update:Nipigon 17 is located near Proctor Lake, approximately 30 kilometres east of Longlac. The fire is being held at 0.2 hectares.
