Forest Fire Situation Update – Northwest Region: August 15, 2017

Nipigon District Fire Number 029 is the fire of concern to the community of Nibinamik located 10 kilometres northwest of the community. Ignition, using fire to fight the fire, is being done on the south and southeastern sides of the fire in order to push it into natural boundaries and prevent further spread towards the community. The fire is being managed by an Incident Management Team with multiple crews and helicopters as well as an ignition team. The fire crew efforts are focused on the south
