Forest Fire Situation Update Northwest Region June 18, 2018

THUNDER BAY – Wild Fire Update – There were two new forest fires in the Northwest Region by the afternoon of June 18.Kenora Fire 58 was caused by lightning in the south-west corner of Whitefish Bay on Lake of the Woods. At. 0.3 hectares, it is currently not under control.
Kenora Fire 57 was a short-lived fire start near Red Deer Lake, it has been declared out.At present, there are 14 active fires in the Northwest Region, 11 of which are under control or being observed.
