Forest Fire Situation Update Northwest Fire Region June 12, 2018

THUNDER BAY – There was one new forest fire in the Northwest Region by the late afternoon of June 12.
Red Lake Fire 36, caused by a lightning strike, is located approximately eight kilometres east of Balmertown near Ranger Lake. It is currently not under control.
The fire hazard is rebounding in the region after overnight rains in southern portions of the Northwest. The fire hazard ranges from moderate in the Kenora and Red Lake Districts and low to moderate in the Thunder Bay and Fort Fra
