August 26, 2022 – Northwest Region Forest Fire Situation Update

THUNDER BAY – Wildfire Update – The quiet fire season continues across Western and Northern Ontario.No new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by the late afternoon of Aug. 26.
At the time of this update there were two active fires in the far north of Northwest Region. Both fires are being observed.
The wildland fire hazard generally ranges from moderate to low with isolated areas of high hazard conditions in the Red Lake sector.
