Woman found strangled to death was being controlled by pimp: reports

Friends of Valerie Maurice, who was found strangled to death in an Edmonton apartment suite on Thursday, say the woman was being controlled by a pimp.
That’s according to le Journal de Montréal and TVA, French-language news outlets that cite friends saying a couple in the apartment witnessed an argument then fled.
