Wildfire near Janvier downgraded from out of control, evacuation alert lifted

A wildfire threatening the communities of Janvier and Chipewyan Prairie First Nation is now being held and the evacuation alert was lifted Saturday morning.
Alberta Wildfire said the wildfire is about 237 hectares in size currently and has been downgraded from out of control status.
The alert was lifted just after 10 a.m. by the Alberta Emergency Management Agency, citing the fire is no longer out of control and the communities are no longer threatened by the fire at this time.
