When energy-efficient light bulbs got political in Alberta
Energy-efficient light bulbs became something of a political hand grenade in Alberta in February 2017 when the government announced the lights would be part of a direct install program funded by the carbon tax.
The official Opposition at the time was furious at what it deemed a government trying to buy Albertans with their own money.
