Watch: Notley says freezing eduction spending can't keep up with growing schools
Premier Notley says that under a plan revealed by the UCP, a spending freeze proposed by Jason Kenney would mean that no new teachers would be hired until the budget is balanced.
She argued that 15,000 new students enter the school system in Alberta each year and under the UCP proposal, those students would have to squeeze into existing classrooms with current staffing levels.
