Ward 5: Sarah Hamilton becomes the new face of west Edmonton

Rookie candidate Sarah Hamilton is headed to city hall to fill the void left by vacating one-term Ward 5 councillor Michael Oshry.
With all 19 polls reporting in the hotly contested ward in the city’s southwest, Hamilton, with 6,156 votes (35 per cent), was leading David Xiao, with 3,626 votes (about 21 per cent).
Dawn Newton with 2,195 votes (12 per cent) was in third and Miranda Jimmy with 2,065 votes (nearly 12 per cent) was close in fourth.
