Ward 1: Race for west Edmonton uncontested as nomination day approaches

From tony homes edging the river valley to sweeping industrial parks on the city’s western outskirts, Ward 1 is crisscrossed by some of Edmonton’s busiest traffic arterials.
Those roads divide mature residential neighbourhoods from commercial areas – including the sprawling West Edmonton Mall and surrounding shopping areas.
Incumbent Andrew Knack is seeking re-election for the Ward 1 council seat in a race that is so far uncontested.
