University of Alberta adopts new sexual-violence policy

The University of Alberta has adopted a new sexual-violence policy and a procedure to help people on campus know what to do if someone discloses a sexual assault.
“This policy is a statement of principles that the University of Alberta will not tolerate sexual violence and we have a duty to provide a safe, secure learning and working environment for our community,” said André Costopoulos, vice provost and dean of students, in a statement Friday.
