Immigrants do not rely on government for periods to cover health care and school. When immigrating to Canada, there is a lengthy process where immigrants need to show how they will and can support themselves from the start in Canada. If you are sponsoring a family member to immigrate, the sponsor needs to sign a declaration and guarantee that the immigrant will be financially supported by you and cannot rely on government handouts.
