Thursday's letters: Eight years not enough for killing

Re. “Man, 26, gets eight years for hit-and-run killing of MMA fighter,” Dec. 4
I am disappointed, though not surprised, with the eight-year  sentence for the killing of Ryan Jimmo.
The culprit in this instance should be serving a minimum of 25 years behind bars without the possibility of parole. The fact the judge cited the culprit had children and was in a “committed relationship” was not necessary, nor did it shed any favourable light on him.
