Mountain of Storms: Before they were magnates of the outdoors, Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and The North Face’s co-founder Doug Tompkins were true dirtbags. In 1968, Chouinard, Tompkins and a group of three friends set off in an old van to a then-obscure destination: the eponymous Patagonia region.
