Spoon dishes pleasingly funky moments at Winspear Wednesday night

Last night the city was divided between two bands.
OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration; most of Edmonton was either at the Guns N’ Roses extravaganza or hearing them echo from out of Commonwealth Stadium, while a fervent few in comparison packed the Winspear to see the first ever visit by Spoon. It took nine albums and close to a quarter of a century for the Austin-based five-piece to journey this far north, but the wait was definitely worth it.
